MINDWALKERS

TRAININGS PROGRAMS

The Mindwalkers oversee a series of specialized training programs, with new initiatives continually developed to counter the escalating threats facing our nation. Recruitment for all core programs begins at 18, though select initiatives (such as certain educational partnerships like the Psychic Ambassadors Program) may identify and begin preparing candidates at a younger age.

The Foragemen

The Flats, a region of white salt flats, is home to one of the most specialized and demanding groups in the region: the Conservators of the Flats. Often incorrectly referred to by locals as the “Fighting Flatsmen,” the Conservators are tasked with sustaining life and ensuring the continued survival of settlements scattered across this harsh environment.

The Conservators engage in a range of essential activities, including cultivating crops in infertile soil, experimenting with alternative agricultural methods, and maintaining extensive stores of provisions, with particular emphasis on preserved meats and rations. Their organizational structure is highly deliberate, with each role designed to support both the group itself and the broader network of settlements reliant on their expertise.

In addition to their logistical responsibilities, the Conservators serve a protective function, guarding against natural and unnatural threats that conventional communities cannot withstand. These include predatory wildlife, environmental hazards, and anomalous phenomena that regularly emerge across the Flats. Members conduct scouting missions, manage complex supply chains, and employ various survival techniques, making each individual’s skills critical to the group’s overall effectiveness.

Life among the Conservators is recognized as exceptionally demanding, requiring endurance, ingenuity, and courage. Only those capable of adapting to the Flats’ extreme conditions and contributing to the collective mission are accepted into their ranks, ensuring that the group remains both resilient and capable in one of the most unforgiving regions known to human habitation.

Historical accounts from the Flats occasionally reference an individual named Duffy, often associated with so-called “cannibalism.” It should be noted that these events were largely circumstantial and not the result of any organized action by the Conservators or affiliated settlements.

Out of a desire to acknowledge the historical record, a dedicated entry for Duffy has been maintained. While we formally recognize his presence in archival materials, inclusion should not be interpreted as an endorsement or validation of the actions attributed to him. In short: these occurrences happened, we document them, but responsibility lies squarely with the exceptional circumstances of the environment rather than institutional oversight.
